September 16 to 18, 2016, Nulle p'art ailleurs will take TOHU by storm for the very first time.
Nulle p'art ailleurs, an unprecedented multidisciplinary event which will have you explore the universe of more than 100 Montreal-based artists from all origins and disciplines. On the program: a monumental exhibition made of 300 works by 55 artists, circus performances, music, dance, fire eaters and other surprising acts, lectures and thematic tours of the exhibition and, finally, artistic workshops for the whole family! Embrace diversity!
Fifty-three visual artists and more than 300 works to discover! Guided tours will be offered over the three days, and a lecture by the exhibition’s curator will take place Saturday, September 17.
Six groups playing with a variety of rhythms will take to the stage located at the heart of TOHU: Just Wôan, Daniela Fiorentino, Joyce N’Sana and the Holy Hills Band, and their special guests Webster, Marie Trezanini, Rookie Rook & Cie as well as Komty. By performing reggae, Afro-groove and the traditional repertoires of Italians and Yemenite Jews, the artists will break down received ideas by unveiling creations inspired by Montreal, the city that has seen them emerge. This multidisciplinary show co-produced with Vision Diversité will be complemented by circus acts, performed by astonishing Ryunosuke Yamazumi, as well as a tango performance by Sinha Danse and a performance by Ekspresyon, which combines traditional Haitian dance to jazz and contemporary dance elements.
Object and puppet theatre, mime, brainstorming, writing, dance and plastic arts workshops, tales and dance performances on skates: Saturday and Sunday, there will be something for all ages and every taste!
