July 13, August 3 and 17
At the heart of the park, observe the celestial sphere and discover what can be found in our cities skies!
A few times throughout the summer, make your way through parc Frédéric-Back at night, looking for stars, planets and other astronomical objects. With a TOHU guide and a Cosmodôme interpreter, learn simple techniques for astronomical observations in an urban setting. If the sky is generous, it might even be possible to spot shooting stars!
The ideal outing to enjoy advice and information by our experts, and an invitation to look up and see the sky above in a different perspective.
Useful info: A 15-minute walk is to be expected to reach the observation site. Plan for comfortable shoes and a warm sweater for the cooler nights.
*In the event of rain or clouds, the activity will be adapted to weather conditions.
*Astronomy buffs are welcome to bring their portable telescopes!
*This activity is free and is on a first come, first served basis. However, you are invited to sign up online or by phone to secure a spot. A fee of $2 per person will apply. Registration is free for Saint-Michel residents.
