ESENCIAL is a show that relates to transitions.Five characters who play, dream, and take us to a journey of adventures. This new show by Vaivén Circo presents a set inspired by Waldorf’s “Rainbow”, a toy for children with arches and pillar which gives a spectacular scenography. The audience is witness of a changing and inventive architecture, in the same way of human being who always want to evolve. A poetic set, ideal to recreate a magical atmosphere, working on balance and its fragility given the fact harmony can become chaos in a few seconds.
For this show, Miguel Moreno “Bolo”, awarded National Circus Prize 2016, collaborate with Javier Parra on direction and Jokin Oregi, awarded National Children and Young people’s Theatre Prize 2018 with his company Marie de Jongh, on theatre staging.
Vaivén Circo is a company created in 2008, born from the meeting between Raquel Pretel Ferrándiz, dancer, and Miguel Moreno (Bolo), circus artist, while they were working for the Catalan company "Els Comediants". Vaivén Circo was born, merging the two scenic arts of circus and dance.
During the following years, the company produced 4 shows: "La Felicidad en un Dos por Dos", "Cayuco", "Do Not Disturb" and "Des-Habitat". In 2019, the company has already given more than 800 performances in total and the new production "Esencial" has already been performed more than 100 times.
