LIVING MEMORIES

The theme Living Memories was chosen in connection with an important anniversary to mark: the 50th anniversary of the Maison d'Haïti. Living memories to say that our lives are intimately linked to the past; we live on the shoulders of our predecessors, their resistance and their art live on through our songs, our music, our dances, our literature, our cinema.

This theme reminds us to make alive and accessible the history, heritage and contribution of Afro-descendant communities to the cultural life of Quebec, Canada.

This year's theme is a celebration of the creativity and resilience of our communities, it is a testament to the fight against racism, for the respect of the rights and freedoms of Afro-descendant people.
