Clip! is back! Philippe Trépanier's solo show, directed by Yves Dagenais, returns after more than 290 performances around the world. Since its premiere in 2010, this exceptional Canadian production has continued to captivate audiences, offering a unique and memorable experience with each performance.

The show is unique, with artist Philippe Trépanier bringing more than 20 years of experience on stages and runways around the world. A seasoned improviser, master of slapstick, and accomplished juggler, he is gifted with charisma and a keen sense of timing. Clip! is a mature and striking clownish work. It highlights the finesse of the contemporary clown and breaks down all stereotypes.

The world of Clip! also features all the essential elements of Deux de Pique's artistic approach: fragility, vulnerability, exaggeration, kindness, and the convergence of physical comedy, clowning, and various circus disciplines.

Synopsis

Philippe is an elderly employee at the theater where a major international event is to be held. From blunders to minor disasters, he struggles to prepare the stage for this event, but he is constantly distracted from his task, drawn to the only thing that interests him: acting. Acting in plays, acting as a lecturer, playing with a diabolo.

Perhaps someone will finally discover his many talents?

Let's hope so!

Philippe encounters a thousand and one problems in his work. He becomes a victim of circumstances, because he is very naive and doesn't understand what is going on. As he is constantly reacting, he forgets the how and why. Philippe's world, like that of all clowns, is similar to that of childhood, in terms of learning and reacting to events. He swings from one mood to another in a fraction of a second.

“His acting is a mix of Chaplin and Pierre Richard (...) funny (...) works perfectly with the audience (...) very, very entertaining, very well executed (...) inventive and intelligent staging by Yves Dagenais (...)”

- Anne-Josée Cameron – Retour sur le Monde - Radio de Radio-Canada

About Les Deux de Pique

Les Deux de Pique is a small creative company founded by Tamara Bousquet and Philippe Trépanier, a couple both on stage and in real life. Its mission is to promote the circus arts through the creation, production, and distribution of shows specializing in clowning. Over the years, the team has grown to include a constellation of talented allies, creators, designers, and administrators.

Although the company will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026, its co-founders have been shining on the circus stage for over 20 years. They have trodden the boards of European cabarets and traveled the world with major institutions.

Humor, accessibility, candor, and improvisation have become the hallmarks of their offbeat works.

Thanks to their sharp circus skills and the accuracy of their tone, Les Deux de Pique attract a large and diverse audience.
