In this talk, Hélène Jasmin will describe the life of Frédéric Back, an inspiration and collaborator who became a friend. Frédéric Back often said that the music in his films was as important as his drawings, which is why Ms. Jasmin insisted on having a musician accompany her.
Hélène Jasmin introduces us to Frédéric Back, artist and environmentalist, creator of “Crac” and “The Man Who Planted Trees”, winner of two Oscars, Chevalier de l'Ordre du Québec and ... friend.
Hélène Jasmin, author and lecturer, studied Sociology at UQAM; the Pierre Dufault School of Radio and Television in Montreal; and violin studies with Master Eugène Bastien, member of the OSM. Her work experience includes: freelance journalist for various newspapers, including her collaboration since 2020 with OUR CANADA magazine, a Readers Digest publication; cultural host for music programs (FM radio), Radio-Canada; exhibition curator (in collaboration); author of books on the history of theater, art and horticulture.
She is co-owner and vice-president of La Belle Amérique, a company specializing in cultural presentations and historical re-enactments.
