With an Insectarium educator, give a hand to the scientists who are working to save the magnificent monarch butterfly.
In this workshop, you will learn how to document monarch habitats in your neighbourhood. You will learn about the basics such as its life cycle and migration. You will identify milkweed plants and the different life stages of the monarch. All this in order to dive into the world of community sciences by taking and submitting your observations.
These actions allow you to share an intimate moment with these flamboyant beings while contributing to the enhancement of biodiversity. A great way to cultivate a strong sense of pride!
This activity is part of Celebrating Entomophilia, a series of events presented by the Montreal Insectarium | Space for Life to promote insects, essential to the balance of nature, and therefore to our health and well-being.
Mission Monarch
Mission Monarch is a community science program supported by the Insectarium that aims to document the reproductive success of the species.
