In a gray and dreary world, Dorothée’s imagination brings to life, for her friends, a wonderful land where the impossible does not exist. There, they meet their alter egos in the form of a scarecrow, a tin man, a lion, a wizard, a fairy, and a witch. In this colorful, musical retelling of L. Frank Baum’s famous tale, magic takes hold. Traveling along the yellow brick road, they set out to meet the famous Wizard of Oz. Will he be able to grant their wishes? The answer may not lie at the end of the road, but in the songs they sing along the way!
The mission of the Advienne que pourra Theater is to broaden the cultural horizons of young and old alike. We view theater as an essential tool in the process of discovering one’s identity. Beyond languages, translations, codes, beliefs, religions, and differences, we hope that our work will serve as a catalyst for openness to the world. Our artistic signature is built on the convergence of diverse artistic perspectives. Drama, movement, circus, and music—the fusion of the performing arts leads us to view our practice as an art form created by curious and versatile artists, with the goal of breaking down the barriers that limit the possibilities of dramatic and theatrical language.
