TOHU
La TOHU turns 20 this year. To mark the occasion, it has teamed up with Kino Montréal to showcase the 7th art by presenting a festive micro Kabaret la TOHU on September 26 in its circular auditorium, from 8:00 to 9:30 pm.
The event will give five filmmakers chosen for the occasion the opportunity to present a short film of their own, 6 to 8 minutes long, on the theme of “When cinema meets the extraordinary”.
Audiences attending on September 26 will have the chance to watch Hiko by Flavien Demeure, Escape Artist by Sergine Dumais, La voie du clown by Jack Brayer, Les Semelles du quartier by Dominique Caron and Je suis by Kevin Veynand.
These short films will have a link to TOHU in one way or another: circus arts and artists, creativity, Frédérick-Back Park, sustainable development, community solidarity...
In addition, short films under 2 minutes in length will be screened under the theme “Beyond the Circus”. Produced as part of a challenge launched by Kino pour la TOHU, these very short films aim to highlight, in addition to the Circus, La TOHU's two other less talked-about missions: its concern for the Earth and for Humankind.
Everyone is invited to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to savour the beers of Brasserie Dieu du ciel! who will be offering tastings. Tastings will continue after the screening, until 11pm. Our bistro will also be open for friendly get-togethers.
