Thanks to a donation from the gallery Au coin des artistes, received in 2024, TOHU has enriched its collection with over 50 works inspired by Quebec circus arts. On the occasion of the Montréal Complètement Cirque festival, TOHU is proud to present a selection of these new additions.
Inspired by the unique characters of the circus world, Yvan Genest offers portraits in which imagination elevates reality. To complement and welcome these works into our collection, they will be displayed alongside portraits from the Jacob-William Fund.
About Yvan Genest
An artist for over 40 years, Yvan Genest divides his time between his studios in Puerto Vallarta and Montreal. A former musician, he found in painting a way to express his boundless imagination. Influenced by Mexican spirituality, he has developed a unique visual language at the crossroads of shamanism, expressionism, and popular culture. His work captivates an international audience with its contemporary power and timeless resonance.
