Circus has long fascinated people of all ages, but it has also inspired artists, from the most anonymous to the most renowned. Art often reflects the audience’s sense of wonder and delight, but it also reveals the inner world of the circus, its backstage, its artisans, and their daily lives. Through the works presented in the permanent exhibition L'art... du cirque, we come to understand the importance of this direct relationship between audience and performers within a live show, a unique and shared moment. See the magic of circus arts from a new perspective, both from the audience’s point of view and that of circus artists.
