There is no age requirement for the 5 km and 2 km race distances. For children under 12, we encourage them to be accompanied by an adult.
Location
Start and finish at the TOHU public square. The courses take place in Frédéric-Back Park.
Come and participate for free in the Foulée illuminée run: a fun and festive race organized by TOHU in collaboration with ParkRun. With no time limit, Foulée Illuminée is open to anyone who wants to enjoy a visual and sensory experience, learn to run with family or friends, and discover Frédéric-Back Park at nightfall.
Bring your lights, your devices and your most colorful clothes!
Two races are available for running or walking:

The 5km, start at 8:30pm
Who is ParkRun?
Parkrun is a collection of 5km events for runners, walkers, and volunteers that take place every Saturday morning in over 2,000 locations in 23 countries across five continents. These events are open to all, with no time limit, and encourage community participation from runners, volunteers, and spectators alike. Parkrun is a global initiative that promotes health, well-being, and community through free, accessible runs every Saturday morning. Montreal Park Run takes place in Frederic Back Park every Saturday morning!

Discover the course
The start and finish of the Foulée illuminée run are in front of the Illuminated Giant, located in the public square of the TOHU.
The 5 km run-walk route loops clockwise and follows the multi-purpose trail in Frédéric-Back Park. The total distance for the 5 km is 5.7 km.
The 2 km run-walk route follows the Cirque du Soleil on the multi-purpose path. Simply follow the volunteers' directions and the signs along the route.

Water Supply
Bring your water bottle.
No single-use glasses or bottles will be distributed during the event. You can refill your water bottle (or other container) inside the TOHU. Water fountains along the course are located:
Entertainment
Several attendance prizes will be awarded starting at 9:30 PM only to participants present. These prizes will be drawn randomly among all registrations (2 km and 5 km).
Photobooth
A photobooth is available on-site to capture your memories, your best sport outfit, and your fluorescent makeup.
Future Station (MAPP MTL)
Supervised by MAPP MTL animators, both young and old will learn to create video animations using tablets. These animations will then be projected on the facade of TOHU throughout the evening.
Photographer and Videographer
Please note that a photographer and videographer will be present to take photos and videos of the event. These images may be used for internal purposes.

The TOHU public square and the parade route are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Universal Accessibility
People with Reduced Mobility
The 2 km course is accessible to people with reduced mobility, as it is relatively flat with no steep slopes. All trails are accessible; most are covered with stone dust.
Site Accessibility
The facilities of the TOHU public square are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Accessible parking*, ramp, and adapted toilets are available. (Friday from 6 PM)
Strollers
You are welcome to participate in the event with a stroller.
If you are participating in the 5 km or 2 km run, we ask you to position yourself at the back of the pack to reduce the risk of accidents.
Les Lumières de Saint-Michel is presented in collaboration with Le Fonds de Solidarité FTQ. This event is also made possible by the contribution of the Government of Canada, the City of Montreal and the borough of Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension.
