A “dance-juggling” show, JUVENTUD draws on circus physicality to bring a group of five jugglers to the dance floor. “JUVENTUD Manifeste Jonglé” is a progressive manifestation of freedom in movement, in circulation, where beauty is not sought in order and perfection, but in a bastardized complexity where the individual does not erase the group - and vice versa. With youth as a starting point and the future as a horizon to be recharged with promising “energies”, “JUVENTUD Juggling Manifesto” takes you on a game of five-way variations, an upward spiral where juggling, movement, sound, light and video intermingle. On a white stage framed in black, five bodies seek each other out, get lost and play catch-up. In a crescendo of rhythm, they assert themselves and contaminate each other in search of a combination that will draw them into a common dynamic, both plural and shared.
Created and led by Nicanor de Elia, the NDE Company was founded in Brussels in 2015. The company's research focuses on body expression through object manipulation, contemporary dance, visual arts, and video. These various influences are in constant dialogue, blurring the lines so that circus, dance, and visual arts can coexist. Today, the NDE Company produces three shows: COPYLEFT, a danced juggling performance for public spaces (2019), JUVENTUD, a juggling manifesto for the stage (2021), and EL DORADO, a new creation scheduled for January 2025 focused on the manipulation of bodies through juggling.
