True to the language of dreams, which evokes fleeting images, allusions, and mirages, TITIZÉ is a performance that draws the audience into a rarefied, surreal world. Its narrative, fragmented at first glance yet deeply allusive, unfolds
in a kaleidoscopic interplay where different levels of meaning intertwine, reminiscent of a hyperbolic “grommelot.” “TITIZÉ,” “you are”: an emblematic word, full of rhythm, whose evocative sound draws attention to the power of the verb “to be,” underscoring the universality of an experience designed to intimately engage a diverse audience of all ages. The show fuses tradition and innovation in a fascinating blend of clowning, body language, and acrobatics, which allows for allusions, metaphors, and the amplification of emotions—and the use of innovative stage machinery, giving rise to a theater of wonder and lightness. With a troupe of ten talented performers, including acrobats, actors, and musicians, TITIZÉ offers an immersion into the essence of Venice, where past and present blend into a single, captivating narrative, and stories—scattered like seashells on the beach, each with its own beauty and mystery, come together to form a precious mosaic.
The distinctive artistic vision of the Compagnia Finzi Pasca took shape based on the concepts of “Theater of the Caress” and “Invisible Gesture.”
Developed over 40 years of experience, these concepts have given rise to a unique aesthetic and a highly distinctive style of artistic creation and production, as well as a training philosophy for actors, acrobats, musicians, dancers, and technicians: a way of inhabiting space.
Theater, dance, acrobatics, circus, opera, and documentary film—all converge within the Compagnia Finzi Pasca.
Compagnia Finzi Pasca was founded in 2011 by Antonio Vergamini, Daniele Finzi Pasca, Hugo Gargiulo, Julie Hamelin Finzi (†), and Maria Bonzanigo, building on the work developed by Teatro Sunil and Inlevitas.
Headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland, Compagnia Finzi Pasca is one of the most importantindependent performing arts companies in the world. Throughout its history, it has created and produced more than 40 shows. Its creators have also designed three Olympic Ceremonies (Turin 2006 and Sochi 2014, for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games), as well as two shows for Cirque du Soleil:
*Luzia* in 2016 and *Corteo* in 2005 (the latter attracting 8 million spectators over 10 years of touring), nine operas—including *Aida* and Verdi’s *Requiem*—are officially part of the Mariinsky Theater’s (Saint Petersburg) repertoire; *Carmen* and *Pagliacci* at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, *L’Amour de Loin* for the English National Opera (London), *Einstein on the Beach*, which opened the 2019–2020 season at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and *The Tales of Hoffmann* at the Hamburg State Opera, presented in September 2021, as well as *María de Buenos Aires* at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in October 2023.
Among its major events, the Company produced *Montréal Avudo* in 2017, a multimedia show combining performance art with video mapping, lighting, and water fountains (249,000 spectators in 4 months), and in 2019, *Abrazos* for the Feria Estatal de León (Mexico), a special event dedicated to families (over 200,000 spectators). In addition, its creative core was part of the 2019 Fête des Vignerons, a major event that takes place four times a century in Vevey (Switzerland), attended by 375,000 spectators.
In 2020, the Compagnia Finzi Pasca served as the artistic director for the inauguration of Russia’s largest organ at the Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow. The Sense Gallery, a multisensory space comprising six rooms with immersive installations, is located at the FoxTown Factory Stores in Mendrisio.
Currently, six of the Compagnia’s productions are on tour: Titizé – A Venetian Dream (2024), Nuda (2021), 52 (2021), Luna Park – Come un giro di giostra (2020), Bianco su Bianco (2014), and Icaro (1991).Other international projects are in the works.
