OKIDOK, a simple, effective title that says a lot about the show's content. It's a title like a gamble, because here, laughter reigns supreme, sometimes with finesse, sometimes with great bursts of laughter, on the lips of an ageless audience. On stage, two funny characters: their red noses and their looks are reminiscent of Eastern European clowns. But this nod to tradition is matched by a pronounced taste for the imaginary, combined with an innate sense of comedy, and unrivalled acrobatic technique. The result is a whimsical show, the mysterious universe of a clownish duo on the borderline between Tex Avery cartoons and object theater.
A succession of sketches, as improbable as they are hilarious, plays with artifice and flamboyance. A sobriety that only a few objects shake up, pretexts for new gags, a new fantasy: a balloon falling from the air, a rebellious carrot, a door opening onto nothingness, the unusual constantly intersects with inventiveness. It's all about looks, facial expressions and power relations, as the acolytes become subjects, rivals or allies. A complete show, constructed with finesse and simplicity.
“Les Okidok ne possèdent pas la parole, mais maîtrisent à merveille le sens (sic !) de l'absurde. […] Techniquement excellent. Pour ceux qui aiment le burlesque.”
