Normand Girard discovered stunt kites in 1995 during a trip to North Carolina. That first encounter sparked a true passion. The following year, he designed his very first stunt kite model, the Kino.
In 1997, his participation in the World Kite Gathering in Verdun (Montréal) marked a new chapter in his journey. There, he discovered single-line kites through the work of influential kite makers, an experience that ignited a lasting desire to explore, create, and innovate.
With a background in architecture, Normand Girard places great importance on form and design. His creations, often characterized by the presence of white, seek to convey calm, serenity, and balance through clean, harmonious lines.
For him, a kite goes beyond its basic function; it becomes a true sculpture animated by the wind. His creative process is both intuitive and contemplative, leaving room for imagination and surprise. Sketches, design work, and flight testing come together to produce unique works crafted with precision and sensitivity.
Today, he has created numerous single-line kites that he flies and exhibits at festivals across Québec and around the world.
